Hello, my dad, who is under the age of 45 has just been told it's 'likely' he has cancer cells on his liver, alongside his bowel, he's going in for an operation of some description and I'm under the impression it's to remove part of the bowel, what happens now, how bad is this? 

I'm just looking for some guidance because I'm only young and I will be looking after him
