  • Hi,

and welcome. You should soon be getting regular blood tests for your psa. Hormone therapy usually starts to lower the psa level fairly quickly. For instance my psa was 70 but in six months came right down to 3.18 and after radiotherapy came down to 0.01. I used to have my psa test about every three months or so. Each hormone injection lasts 28 days not a month as some people tell you, but you may later on be put on the one that lasts 12 weeks. You will probably suffer from hot flushes and night sweats but allthough embarassing, are a small price to pay when the treatment works so well. If you have any questions I will help or you can phone the nurses on this site who are terrific.

Sending best wishes your way and please keep in touch, Brian.
