We are the parents of a  beautiful 13 year old recently diagnosed with a rare Grade 2 Diffuse Astrocytoma in her Mid Temporal Lobe. Visibly Abbie is fit and well, investigations followed after a seizure after playing at a trampoline park and one other seizure prior to that after somersaulting on a giant inflatable. Diagnosis and grade were confirmed after a biopsy in June.  The tumour is inoperable due to size, shape and location and chemo reported to be ineffective.  We have been told Abbie is eligible for Proton Beam Therapy but the experts feel treatment is best when further growth has been seen.  The tumour is quite large (6cm) and a scan last week has confirmed no regrowth since the first MRI 2 months ago, the experts suggest a re scan in 4 Months  Can anyone offer any advice, the waiting game feels so wrong and is stressing us all out so much?
