Husband diagnosed with lung cancer

Feeling very scared and anxious my fantastic brave husband has been diagnosed with stage 3B nsclc not curable but oncologist has said its treatable. This is the second time in 4 years he's had to battle cancer, the first time the cancer was in his tongue.  I'm terrified of all the chemo he's got to endure again he's just had 5 sessions of radiotherapy he breezed that.

  • Hi Lorraine,

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with cancer again, especially after coming through his battle with tongue cancer, but it's great that the oncologist has said it is treatable.

I'm glad to hear that the radiotherapy has gone o.k but can understand why you're feeling scared about him going through chemo again. If you can try to remind yourself that he has come through it once and with your support he will do again.

Many of our members who have been in the same situation with their friends or loved ones will know exactly how you're feeling right now and I'm sure they will post soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

In the meantime I have found some information on our website about non small cell lung cancer. I'm not sure how much you know already but you can find out more about how chemotherapy works for it here.

Let us know how your husband gets on. We'll be thinking of you.

    Best Wishes,
