After surgery

Hi all

well I had my surgery just a few days ago, still very bruised & sore. The cut, luckily is under the bra line, I would say from 12-6oclock round the nipple area. There wasn't a lump there just all small bits I was told they caught it early. Don't go back till 2wks to see the doctor/surgeon again. Another long waiting game. I'm so hoping I don't have to have radiotherapy.

im so trying to stay positive about all this, but as I lost both my parents to cancer I'm really concerned. I'm thinking of asking the doc if I could have a full MRI scan to check everywhere. Do you think I should..?

  • Hello Rapunzel and thanks for your post

I am one of the nurses and Lucie one of our moderators thought it might be useful if we post something to you.

Following breast cancer surgery some women may need to have further tests but this will depend on the stage and grade of the cancer.

Your doctor or breast care nurse will advise you if you need to have any further scans as they will know your individual circumstances.

I hope you get some support here on the forum. If no-one posts here you could try some other threads and please do get back to us if we can help. If you want to talk to one of the nurses, you can call us on 0808 800 4040, we are here Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes

    Celene
