I'm due a mastectomy this wk after dcis high grade diagnosis. I'm scared but know needs must. My breast is so sore still from a very painful vacuum biopsy in April though! Anyone else had this?
sorry you have found yourself here. I too have high grade dcis, extensive so I am due for mastectomy on Thursday. I am scared too, of the op, the recovery and the final pathology. I had my very first mammogram in Feb, but due to backlog was not recalled until April, everyone said it was routine for a callback after first mammo, but not me, straight in for biopsy. Following week diagnosed with dcis. Three weeks later had sentinel node biopsy. Then delay in surgery, they were never giving me a date. Found out my surgeon had an accident so I phoned again wondering when I'd be seen. Then had a telephone call to say it's next Thurs!!
its a scary process, everyone says you will get through it a step at a time. I have spoken to some lovely ladies on here. So a good place to get support
