Hello

i was diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 1b grade 3 last July. This was treated by radical hysterectomy in September. When I had my post op then first routine check up all was well. At the end of Feb my leg swelled up, I'd had lymph nodes removed and I was referred to lymphedema team in March, long story but haven't see them yet,  anyway I had my final medical from the army before discharge at beg May and said I had deep sciatica pains but only in bum. Sent for MRI (all happened quickly), went to 2nd routine review yesterday and my GP had called cons to let him know suspicious lymph node. Got CT scan yesterday. Kind of numb! I was positive with last one knew about surgery as I'm a nurse but I've been told chemo/radio this time and really don't know what to expect. MDT meeting is on Monday so I'll get a call. Anyone chat?

  • Hi Harpur and welcome to the forum.

You've come to a great place as our members are very supportive and caring and I'm sure that others who have been in the same or similar situation as you will post soon to share their experiences with you.

Good luck with your MDT meeting on Monday. We'll be thinking of you and please do come back and let us know what happens. Also, if your meeting isn't too early on Monday morning you're more than welcome to ring our nurses and ask them questions about what to expect from your appointment. They are available from 9.am - 5p.m Monday - Friday and if you're in the UK you can call them for free on 0808 800 4040.

    Wishing you all the best,
