Welcome and sorry to hear about your friend. There are a few on here that have certainly made it and kicked it's butt. Usually lung cancer is diagnosed at a very late stage but if it's found early (usually by accident) the prognosis is a whole lot better. Do you know what type the cancer is and what stage it's at? Not all of the types respond so well to chemo but if early they can remove the tumour or part of the lung.
Hi Michelle.
Thanks for getting back, I an not sure what type of Lung cancer Mick has got ,all I know it is stage 3 and he is having his 3rd course of Chemo today.
I will try and find out although Mick and his wife do not know I am researching possibilities, Mick has been a dear friend of mine over a 30 year period, we both started our building buisinesses the same time.
This not the normall thing for me to do , but I just feel as though I want to try.
Hi there, I can understand you wanting to try when my dad come back from the doctors after she told him she thought he had cancer I got straight on the phone to them to ask about getting a private MRI done. You have to fight your corner.
You would be best to find out the type first otherwise you won't have enough information for a starting point. Could you ask the wife what type it is? Once you start goggling the statistics are quite frightening but they are based on survival rates from quite a while back. There have been quite a few new drugs released for lung cancers. All in all it sounds like he's getting the treatment he needs if he's already started his chemo. How is his health in general? You just being there for them will be a great support for them. So many people run a mile. Take care
