Chemo or not to Chemo

Hi All, I was hoping to throw this topic out and see what responses I get. My Dad has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer (terminal 18 months max). He just had a 2" tumour removed from his head. He is very fit and is back out golfing and enjoying what time he has left. We saw the Radiation Oncologist, who said he didn't want to treat his as his lung cancer is already on the lymph nodes and has spread to another major organ (he said he could radiate, but you don't know where it might pop up next). The Chemo Oncologist, told my Dad to enjoy his summer, and come back to see him when he feels worse. He was not answering directly any question we had about if after chemo my Dad would be able to get back to his current level of fitness. He also wasn't able to help us figure out how much benefit chemo would get him (ie more months of quality life). I was hoping some one could help us figure out whether or not going for chemo is worth it? or if some one has had a loved one/ friend go through with chemo. Thanks so much for your time.
