Hi Dave,
I am sorry to read about your diagnosis. While you are waiting for tests/ results is perhaps one of the most stressful times. Your mind is working overtime with worry. I found in my case once I was told the full picture and what my treatment was to be, I was able to cope much better for you know what your facing. It's the not knowing that cause the worst problems.
I was very fortunate as my gleeson was 3+3=6 with the psa at 70 which was high. But the cancer was still contained within the prostate and I have made a good recovery. I had two years on hormone therapy and 37 radiotherapy sessions. The hormone therapy gave me Hot Flushes much to my wifes amusement. All I got from her was, "Now you know what we women have to go through". But it proved to be very effective so I look on it as a small price to pay.
Take care my friend;sending best wishes to you and please let us know how you get on when you get your results, Brian.
Hi Brian
Thank you for your kind words of support.
I am pleased you were able to make a good recovery.
I have a high Gleeson score (4+ 5)
The cosultant indicated that it might well have travelled outside the prostate and HR was the treatment option.
Still running scared waiting to get the resuts of the Bone Scan and MRI
Kind regards
Dave T
Hi Dave,
Wishing you good results, Brian.
Hi Brian,
Good News!!!!!
Despite the high Gleeson score the cancer is contained within the prostate so I am in the same very fortunate area as you.
I will still need the radical prostectamy etc but hopefull I can be cured
Thans again for all your support.
A very relieved Dave T
