Kidney Cancer Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy

Hello group, I would like to see if there are any people in this forum who live in Essex as I would like to chat. I found out by sheer accident that I had a tumour on my left kidney 7 weeks ago, I feel very very lucky that on week 5 I was admitted to Kings College Hospital in London and had the tumour removed via a partial nephrectomy, last Tuesday it was confirmed that the tumour was the real deal, but my surgeon is confident enough that he removed enough healthy tissue around the tumour to say that I am cured and don't need any further treatment, other than to return in 6 months for a CT scan to see how things are doing in there...so why do I feel so upset at this news? Anyone else in my position I would love to hear from you.

  • Hi Princess Fiona,

I'm from Essex as well, in similar position although awaiting test results. Had a ct scan a few weeks ago as they thought I had kidney stones. Came back as no stones but a possible mass in my right kidney. Had a ultrasound last week and find out my results next week when I see the urologist. That's great news that they've got all of it but I think it's only natural to worry. These last few weeks seem to of gone so slow driving me mad not knowing.
