  • Firstly I'm so sorry for your diagnosis and the reason why you find yourself on this forum.Hopefully you will find some comfort here with like minded people.

What cancer do you have? Firstly I would recommend calling mcmillan they are amazing and have dedicated financial staff who will talk you through claiming for anything you are entitled to.They will help you do everything and you may possibly get a small grant from them if you apply for it. They send out all the forms to you and lots of information theye think may help.

Talk to your hospital also because they too may have practical advice for you. There is lots of help out there get all you can.I hope you have some friends that will help with the children?

     Thinking of you

  • Hi onelove

You've had some rotten luck in your life, Nessemo has given some good advice, contact your appointed McMillan nurse. They will be able to advise you on all aspects of your health, give you financial advice and put you in contact with various agencies who can help you out. Children are very tough and with 5 of them they will be able to hold your family together and help you out when you need it, if you give them some responsibility. All the best Kim

  • You will, I think, find strength from having your children. Mine was 13 when I was diagnosed and I was married to an alcoholic. I made up my mind from day 1 that i was not going to leave my son and now, 31 years later, find that positive thinking and self assertion can help me beat anything life throws at me
