mum has stage 4 cancer

Hello all, i am writing this as i don't know what questions to ask my mum. 

Our lives have changed with a month of mum going for a routine operation to now being told that mum has stage 4 cancer, they cannot operate to remove her womb as the cancer has spread and its very agressive. 

Mum has gone into complete shock but is talking about it, i feel like my world is crumbling around me so only knows what mum feels like.

Mum isn't on the Internet,  possibly sometimes thats a good thing as she will probably read lots like me and be even more frightened, so would there be any groups that could help mum too, as she lives alone,  or could her chemotherapy treatments be done in a different county so i can keep her with me???

    I'm sorry to hear that Mum has been given this news - I'm sure that it's difficult for all of you. 

    Does your Mum have a specialist nurse? They may have some information about local support groups that may be able to help Mum with the practical things she may need. They should also have some information that they can share about the logistics of her treatments. 

    We do have a team of nurses here that you can call to speak to if you think it might be of help. You can call them after the bank holiday on 0808 800 4040 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).

    Thank you for your replies it means so much.

    My sister has found out quite a lot of information re mums condition and support that we are able to get for her, my biggest concern is when mum starts her chemotherapy,  how will she cope living alone, i dont want to add to her pressure by asking her to move in with us. However do uou think we could get her treatments moved from leicestershire to Hampshire to where we live?

    Could we get her a macmillan nurse at this stage? She will be starting chemotherapy 3 days a week commencing next week  and im so concerned for her.

    Hello, I posted nearly 2 years ago about my mum having being diagnosed with stage 4b endometrial cancer. Mums consultant advised my sister and I that mum would likely to last 18 months at the most.... well she is living proof that with determination and fight you can keep going.

    The horrid part of this is today we are going back to see her consultant as mums cancer has spread to 3 more areas in her body, she has had further radiotherapy to try and help.

    if only I knew what to say to mum apart from keep fighting, when I know that is what she is doing.
