In shock for husbands news of throat cancer treatment

Hi I am in shock at present as I went with hubby to get results of his mri and ct scan for the lump on his neck. There are cancer cells there and they think it has come from the back of his tongue, overnight biopsy in a couple weeks to determine this. He had to sit in this dentist type chair whilst 3 professionals told him the treatment which is very aggressive with radiation therapy every day and also chemo at intervals for 7 weeks. Then he will not feel like working for 7 months and have to get a tube in his stomach to eat as his throat will be so sore he cannot swallow!!

I am trying to be strong we are due to takeover a new business in 2 weeks and I was going to keep my part time office job whilst he got the business going now I can't think straight.... Oh dear I'm a crumbling mess

  • Hello Wendywibbs,

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. It is normal for you to be still in shock. You have done the right thing in joining the forum and I hope you will meet many here who are in a similar position.

Wishing your husband the best of luck with the start of his treatment and before that with the biopsy in a couple of weeks.

Do come back and let us know how it all goes. We are keeping everything crossed for him.

    Best wishes,
