My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December. He was rushed into hospital a month ago with an absess and had to have a stoma bag fitted to drain any infection away. He is 74 this year and just retired two weeks before he was diagnosed. My heart is broken that this is happening to him. He is an amazing dad and has worked so hard for his family. My mum passed away 7 years ago. I have siblings but we all deal with things differently so I kinda feel alone with no one to talk to. The person I would normally go to is my dad.

  • Hi Maddie

Really sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis

You'll certainly find plenty of people on here to talk to and we've all been touched by cancer in one way or another.

How is he doing physically and emotionally - it will be really hard on him.

  • Sorry about your dad, lost my mam to secondary liver cancer, diagnosed November 2013, she fought it for almost 20 months, she was given 5 months, it was inoperable from the start, she had 8 cycles of carbox, and it did work for a while, without it she would have left us much sooner, never give up hope, let's hope your dad gets treatment soon x
