New to forum

I was recently diagnosed with ESS and had surgery to remove a total of 5 tumors, one being 20 cm in size that was pressing on my bladder.  I was started on medroxyprogesterone for treatment.  I had a hysterectomy 20 years ago so not really sure where it came from.  Just wondering if anyone else can share their experience and any info would be helpful.

  • Hi Michi and welcome to the forum.  I can see that you have been through such a lot over the past year and I hope the treatment is working well and that you are coping okay.  I have no idea what ESS is - can you enlighten me?

  • Hi Michi

I've replied on other threads which you are following.  Happy to discuss any queries.

Max - ESS stands for endometrial stromal sarcoma and is a rare form of uterine sarcoma.

  • Hi everyone, glad to be with you all out there with same diagnoses.my story so far .i had a hysterectomy in 2008 after being told I had a endometrial stomal sarcoma .when the results came through they said it was a benign nodule and I went away very very happy to be told all was fine . I had no longer the dreaded heavy periods.all was good for next 8 years until this feb 2016.i became very tired and breathless so had bloods take that showed a very low hb level of 70.since feb have had a lot of tests.i was told that the sarcoma had returned and  was missed diagnosed  way back in 2008 .There were new tumours on my lower abdomen.and suspicus nodules on may pelvis.I have be given anti oestrogen tablets to shrink the tumours and they might operate to remove them in the future.i have seen my oncologist today and she is hopefully that all will be ok.i have had a very rocky road since feb this year but am feeling positive that all will be ok.can anyone with same diagnoses be up,for a chat to help each other out .thank you for reading this .xxxx
