Hi
I can only imagine how hard these last two months have been. What a long time to wait.I was diagnosed December 18th and had my mastectomy 6th of January and I thought that was bad enough.
It is always the waiting that is the worst part.I was very nervous for the last couple of days before my op too. It's over sooner than you think you just wake up in recovery and it's all over.I have recovered from my op well and I didn't find it was too painful.I found the drain a pain in the butt and was glad when that came out.I can only really say that as soon as I woke up and for the few days following I felt the biggest sense of relief and did nothing but smile.
I am always here for a chat as I'm 2 weeks post op now and moving along to chemo in a couple of weeks.
Thinking of you vanessa x
Hi. I agree, the waiting time is always the worst! I was diagnosed last September and had about the same wait. Had the mastectomy, but because of previous radiotherapy the scar pulled badly, so I had to go back in to have some remedial work done because it was SO painful. I couldn't wait to go back under the knife!! And then finally being out of pain was such a relief!
Try not to worry too much. Not sure if you'll read this before your surgery tomorrow. I hope everything goes really well for you. You will have another horrible wait until they can tell you the results, and I hope that news comes quickly and is everything you hope for.
Be kind to yourself. BC is usually slow growing, so another couple of weeks won't hurt as they told me it had probably been there for a year or so anyway, and mine hadn't spread to my lymph nodes.
I just started chemo on Tuesday (delayed because of the second surgery) and am feeling fine so far.
Wishing you all the very best. It will be a big relief when it's done! Just take one bit at a time.
(Sorry this is a bit jumbled, just talking from the heart!)

Wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow
Thinking of you,let us know how you get on
