Hi, welcome to this forum, but sorry for the reason you are here.

When you first hear of a diagnosis, whether as a patient or a friend/relative it's always a dreadful shock.  Doctors seem to be finding evermore 'rare' cancers (I have 2 myself) but have few answers.  Is your mam feeling well at the moment?  Have they told her what treatment she may need?  Sometimes these things are slow growing or, indeed, very treatable.  Research is so much better today and treatments are very good.

I know this may seem an awful thing to suggest, but can I say you make sure  carry on with your nursing degree, as well as keeping in close touch with your mam.  I am sure she is very proud of you and would not want you to jeopordise your chances of doing well.
