Hello I am a 76year old male diagnosed with stomach cancer Novemeber 6th 2015. I had been referred for an endoscopy following my GP assuming I had digestive problem. The test was awful as I had no sedation and afterwards the endoscopist asked to see my wife and I and just said you have cancer. We were shocked but have to say since then we have faced this together and I have had scans, AUS laparoscopy and heart scan all of which show I am fir enough for Chem 3 cycles each one begins with intravenus and then orally chemo tablets for 20 days. After this I am to go for scans again in readiness for surgery. My cancer is at the top of my stomach but not in Oesophagus. I am anxious and although coping with my Chemo it has had a huge affect on us. However the staff at the Hospital are just wonderful and our family have been so loving and supportive. With my scans showing no secondaries I am trying to be optimistic and hope that continues to be so.I understand there will be more chemo after surgery so this is going to big year for us. Marinpot.
