Hi, I often wonder why bad news is given directly before Christmas but, to be honest, there is never a good time..  I suppose it's good that it's a time when you usually have loved ones around you so that helps.

Now I know I am probably not speaking on behalf of everybody, but I much prefer the wait and see option.  Sometimes rushing in and removing cancers can cause more complications to be honest.

I think that this is the best way forward, they will probably be doing regular scans and checks and you will be well looked after.  If it is slow growing it could quite possibly never grow to a problem size.

When my dad died he had a post mortem and the coroner told us that they had found the beginnings of a cancerous tumour.  He said it could have been there for 25 years as it was probably slow growing.  He said if they had found it at the beginning and removed it dad would have died 20 years before.  He lived until he was 77 and died of something completely different.
