Recently diagnosed

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, luckily it is grade 1 and I have caught it early. I had the operation to remove the lump a sentinel lobe. When I saw the surgeon last week she told me that the cancer had spread to the lymph node. I was not expecting this and was shocked. I now have to decide on further treatment which is either radiotherapy or a second operation on my armpit. I am reluctant to have the op because I understand that it can cause lymph oedema. I know the percentage is low but it is my right arm and I am right handed. I also have a husband with MS so I have to try to stay fit for him. Has anybody any experience of the op or lymphoedema. Am I worrying about nothing? Any response would be welcome.
