This type of BCC invades deeper and wider than normal BCC so when you had your excision it may not have removed all of the cells. So you may have to have a bit more removed or it may be possible to treat it in other ways. You should phone the hospital and ask if you can speak to someone about your situation. You can also phone the nurses here who will be happy to give you some info. Kim

thank you for replying could there be a reason why consultant wants to discuss my case with collegues ,  why couldnt he tell me what would need doing thanks

Perhaps the consultant needed to discuss this in depth at a meeting with his colleagues each giving their advice before weighing it up and letting you know the best way forward. As its on your face they have to consider any treatment from a cosmetic angle, possible damage to nerves, and importantly to make sure it wont come back. Again you could always phone the nurses here tomorrow for a chat. Kim
