Follicular thyroid carcinoma

Hi I a new to this site and newly diagnosed.  On 2-9-15 I had a hemithyroidectomy histology confirmed an 18mm single focus of follicular thyroid carcinoma.  Post operatively I have had a couple of infections but I am hopefully on the mend now.  It was explained to me that the hystology findings and my case will be discussed at the next Tyroid MDT meeting, which is on the 8-10-15.my consultant explained that they may decide to remove the rest of my thyroid and give me radiotherapy, which I am fine about. The only thing that really bothered me is that I have a small lump in the left side of my thyroid which the consultant appeared to dismiss stating that it is small and that from the ultrasound me can tell it is nothing to be worried about.  But I am worried about this and would much rather have the whole thing removed now and then there is no risk of the cancer coming back.  Although I feel that my opinion does not count and they are making decision about me without taking my views and feelings into consideration.

Has anyone else been in this position or feel like this and what can I do about it?
