Womb cancer

hi, I'm 37 and I've been diagnosed with grade one cancer of the womb, I've had a biopsy, hysteroscopy and I'm currently take progesterone tablets as a treatment. I am due for another biopsy in October to see if the hormone  treatment is working. I would like to know if anyone out there is taking progesterone or has taken it and it has been successful, my other option is a hysterectomy.

  • Hi, Izzie, I had a hysterectomy a year ago for stage 1b and refused radiotherapy for personal reasons. The cancer came back 12 weeks later in January of this year.  In April they started me on hormone therapy which has reduced the tumour by 3/4 so far and I feel okay.  Good luck to you, I am sure you will see good results!

     Hi

I have just read your post. I have also been diagnosed with early stage womb Cancer but been put onto the tablets. I go back in 3 months to check if they are working. What grade is Is your Cancer?

Have you had your biopsy ? Is the treatment working?

  • Hi, it's grade one, I went back and the cancer was the same it hadn't got any worse though, at the MDT meeting it was discussed that if it hadn't worked in 3 months then it was unlikely to work. I am having a hysterectomy on the 10th Dec xxx

  • Hi izzie only just found your thread, I was diagnosed new year eve with a grade one womb cancer which they staged ad 1a after MRI scans. I was not offered hormone therapy only full hysterectomy including ovaries and cervix which is booked for the end of February, I can only assume they didn't offer me them is as it's a hormone receptive tumour they called it when we discussed that I will be unable to take HRT due to the risk of breast cancer.

How are you after your hysterectomy? I hope you are recovering well. Xx
