Tongue Cancer

Yesterday I was diagnosed with a small early stage tongue cancer. It obviously came as a shock especially as I thought I was going for a follow up appointment for Severe cell displacia removal. Feeling fine not even much discomfort from the tongue since the op for cell displacia. Has anyone had any similar experiences or know of. I've had a head neck and abdomen scan. Now I am paranoid about a lower back niggle.

  • Hi. I had laser surgery 6 days ago to remove a large area of dysplasia on the left side of my tongue. I'm still unable to eat and can only drink through a straw. Still awaiting results as it was all delayed for months due to covid. How long was it till you were able to tolerate any food in your mouth

  • Hello, my first post here! Stil trying to figure out where to post but hey, here goes!

After a biopsy that showed displasia I had surgery 7 days ago to remove two large areas under my tongue and still waiting for the results.

I'm suffering with a lot of swelling and pain when I eat and speak even after 1 week. I see quite a few have been through this and was wondering how long it will be before I can at least eat something solid? I think I underestimated the whole thing... Or they didn't explain to me very well the after surgery situation...

    Thanks to everyone reading
