Hi all

A good friend told me to check out forums to get help and advice from others that might be in the same boat as me.

Have just had major surgery to remove a leiomysarcoma which was in the ivc.  They respected the vein put a graft transplanted my right kidney to lower down in my body.  They tell me this is a rare cancer and consequently they don't seem to know whether to treat this with radiotherapy because of where this thing was as treatment might cause problems with other organs getting in the way.  Does anyone know anything about this type of cancer  and how to deal with it or if there is anywhere I can get advice on any further treatment if that is where the experts want to go with this?

  • Hi, Nessie, I'm afraid I have never heard of this either. It must be quite worrying for you, especially if your doctors are not to sure on a treatment plan.

Perhaps you could phone the nurses on here and they may be able to point you in the direction of some infornation.  May I wish you all the very best.
