My nan has just been confirmed with brain, lung and breast (left breast) cancer. I'm unsure how far along they are at the moment, but im hoping to find some answers on here. I know that there are many different treatments for cancer nowadays, such as chemo, but i want to know which tretments are most effective for these types of cancer. Doctors have found tumours in my nans lungs and her left breast and she also has a mass at the base of her skull. She has been referred to the Oncology department and is waiting to see a neurosurgeon. The biggest worry I have, apart from the obvious, is the fact that ecause the mass in her head is so close to her spinal cord, i dont know whether doctors would even want to try operating on it. What are the chances of it being successful if they did try to operate??
My nan is in her 70's, overweight, very bad arthritis so she finds it very difficult to move around easily and she used to smoke as well. In her physical condition, is there much that doctors will be able to do for her??
I lost my dad and my grandad last year, i dont want to think about losing my nan as well, so any answers will be very much appreciated x
