Diagnosed malignant melanoma 2 days ago lower leg. It's nodular ulcerated grade 2 1.9', the worst apparently. I'm still reeling. When I was given the news I shook so much the examination couch moved across the floor. Are there any mms out there?. I'm going out of my mind because it's on the site of an old benign biopsy which I had 10 years ago and dermatologist told me that anything that came back would be benign and to bother him again. A strange pigmented area with red centre developed on site but I just heeded his words and ignored it. It did worry me but I was stupid enough to believe him cos he's the expert! So I left it and left it saw mentioned it to a gp who dismissed it, then a red lump grew with a black scab mid June. Gp referred me to dermatology but didn't realise it was 3 months waiting list so went privately. I think he knew straight away and warned me it could be mm but I didn't believe him as it didn't look like any of the pics on line. He did large excision biopsy and says it's all gone. I have to have op, skin graft and maybe sentinel node biopsy, not decided yet. I feel I've been left high and dry. I live alone kids live away,one in kenya. None of my family know yet. I'm waiting for melanoma nurse to contact me. Gp given me some sleeping pills as have had no sleep. Haven't taken any yet,
