All feels very real now

Well finally assessed & have a treatment plan. I have Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (Bulky) with areas showing in my bones, (back & ribs) so classed as Stage 4B. Marvellous!!!!! I'm going into hospital this thursday to have a lumber puncture & some chemo delivered into the spinal fluid, I'll be kept over night & start my R-CHOP on the friday. R-CHOP will then be given for 6 cycles of 21 days untill approx xmas. Following this it is planned to have 3 sessions of methotrexate given as an in patient. I feel well all barring a blocked nose, so the advanced staging has come as quite a shock (especially with phrases "protecting the brain " being mentioned) Has anyone encountered this condition & followed a similar treatment plan? (A little about me - 35 year old male, 6th 4ins, 15st & fairly active. I have a partner & two kids, 1 four year old boy & a two month old girl)
  • Hi and sorry to hear of your diagnosis Engm35.  Just a quick tip - if you type in your disease into the 'search forum' section on the purple strip at the top of the page, any previous threads on that subject should appear. You may find one which you can post on if it's relatively recent.  The nurses here on the forum are also really lovely people and a good source of information and support. They can be contacted on the freephone number shown at the bottom of this page.  I hope you get the help you need and respond well to your treatment plan x
