Hello,
Anyone else waiting for surgery to remove early, invasive breast cancer?
I am 67 and have been diagnosed with early invasive hormone receptor positive breast cancer. A shock as I have been feeling very well with no cause for concern.
The surgery takes place next Tuesday, although on the Monday I have an injection of radio active isotope to show up the sentinal lymph nodes during surgery.
It all feels a bit surreal really; I am staying positive but have lots of "what if "moments. It will be a long journey, first surgery, then waiting for pathology reports, then hormone treatment and likely radiotherapy. Who knows what to think . One day at a time is the only way forward.
Anyone else want to share with me, I am sure it will help as it is a lonely road. Thanks, Flowerburn.
