Age limit reductions on smear tests??

Hi everyone :)

I've joined today after getting the news a friend has been diagnosed with the early stages of cervical cancer. She only got a diagnosis because of her continued pestering at her GP!!

She's very young & the prob's started to show at 19 yrs old.... she's an amazing mummy to 2 young boys.

I've searched the net this morning, trying to find campaigns that are fighting to lower the age limit currently set.

Does anyone know if any campaigns still exist please? If so, how to join? Or start one?

    I just wanted to welcome you to our forum and sorry to hear your friend has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

    Interestingly someone posted recently in our forum in the 'Take Part in Studies' topic area who is doing a study on whether the cervical screening age should be lowered. You can find out more and maybe take part in this student's research here. Perhaps you could also post on this researcher's thread and ask whether he or she is aware of existing campaigns on this matter?
