Hi Nat, welcome to the forum. Sorry to read about your dad's diagnosis.

It's understandable that you want to find out about your dad's illness and I think I can speak for many on here who would advise against 'Googling' as the information can be out of date, misleading, scary or at best, just confusing, as you've found.

The hospital where your dad has his appointments / treatments will be able to supply booklets about different aspects of Cancer. I found the range of literature produced by Macmillan to be very informative. However, the booklets don't contain 'statistics'  If you want to research this area, you would be better using the CRUK website.  There is also a free phone number on here. Maybe you could call the nurses to ask any questions you may have?

This forum offers a great support network where you can offload, rant, ask questions etc and I hope you will post as often as you need to.

Hi Natt yes this is a worry. I wouldn't bother with the Internet - it's just confusing and a waste of time as the consultants done it already and know what to do for dad.they their care plan in place chemo and a an operation. You just have to trust them.on a diagnosis like this we will feel help less and will naturally caste about for answers and understanding. That's a natural reaction for everyonei am afraid .as jo says it's better just for support here for we know first hand! ! Dad will be looked after will by the hospital and they will try for a cure if they can. This is a time for closeness and reflection. Your dad will be frantic also. Try and make him smile if you can. Exercise helps loads both emotionally and reduces the cancer.

As Meerkat@65 has already said, it doesn't help to google as what you find might be out of date or inaccurate.

Thank you for replying yes the internet has not been helping he has an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow hoping it will go well I think I will give them a call would feel better to have a break down on what to expect etc

Thank you very much for replying I feel myself at the evil end at the moment he is suffering and all i do is snap at everyone and cry and cry when I'm by myself I have told my two best friends and now I feel more closed in and don't know what to do I thought they may have some sort of inspiration or something but they made me feel as tho it was just a normal day and they didn't understand y I was upset and angry just went about their relationship probs and silly things I don't want sympathy and I knowy dad doesn't want sympathy but I just wanted to talk to someone seriously to understand how I was feeling or anything I now feel worse than ever and my dad still can't look me in the face I hate the fact I feel sorry for myself its ridiculous and I hate not being able to help my dad not in any way sorry for the long discussion x
