Hi,I had the same at the age of 19,I had radiotherapy 4 six weeks,a couple of tattoos,which was because they could line up the machine,but nothing to worry about.i was in remission for a year after.then a routine scan showed it spread to 3 different places....had to have chemotherapy for six months....touch wood I'm ok now and 40. Went on to have 2 children,but one thing I will advise you to do is talk to people,as I didn't and I regret it as I suffer everyday with anxiety.my thoughts are with you.xbe positive.x

I'm new to the forum today, I was going to write an introduction but just saw your post and thought I'd reply instead - I'm 34 and was diagnosed with stage 4 Diffuse B-Cell Lymphoma in February. I've just had my second of six chemotherapy treatments - your treatment sounds slightly different, I haven't had an operation or radiotherapy - how are you feeling at the moment? I feel ok, actually I’m shattered and physically worn out but on the whole I’m feeling positive too. I've been struggling more today as I’ve had a cough/cold now for three weeks and its taken most of my energy. Have you thought about speaking to a counsellor? I'm hoping to see one soon as its a lot to get your head around and it’s hard to remain positive all the time - I live on my own and night time is particularly hard as my thoughts tend to darken with it. I do have wonderful friends and family so I'm not always alone thank goodness.  I found my appetite has really changed since I started the treatment - I feel quite queasy partly I think from the chemo and partly the other tablets, maybe it’s the antibiotics too - just the smell and thought of certain foods make me queasy, everything needs to be pretty plain and simple.

I’m wondering at the moment what alternative treatments to try – if only to help me relax, feel less anxious and take my mind of it.

Hi,thanks for replying,I had my Cancer in my neck,they couldn't get it all as it was wrapped around my brain stem,so hence the radiotherapy,as for me seeing a councillor,yes I've been there done that,also had anti depressants (which helped),also tried hypnotherapy,(which didn't),ive also seen my dad die of prostate cancer,so it never really is too far away from my mind.as for you feeling sick from the smell and thought of eating,I do understand but it's pretty much part and parcel I'm afraid,there might be days,when you feel really hungry,try somthing like complan,on the days you don't,but even if you can keep a slice of toast down its somthing,I also found,sucking on ice poles great during chemo sessions as I had ulcers in my mouth,can I ask if you have kids? I was diagnosed with stage 4 DLBCL Aug 2012 - I had 6 lots of R Chop chemotherapy and then 2 doses of methotrexate because my main tumour was wrapped around my spinal cord.  I went into remission March 2013 and was told last week that I am still in remission 2 years later.

It was very hard to cope with in the beginning but if you stick with it you do come out the other side and I think you feel stronger and treasure your life and the small things more. I was tired during the treatment and for about 12 months after but got stronger. I am back working full time and life is fine just look to the future and you will get thru it and believe me the world will look brighter.
