Radiotherapy for prostate cancer

My husband is indergoing hormone therapy at the moment.  After this he will be having radiotherapy for 7weeks.  I have been securing the Internet to find out which are the best hospitals for this.  We are between Broghton and Maodstone but would be prepared to go further afield.  The trouble is, I can't find any info on the Internet which would help us to make a decision.  I would appreciate any I for or tips you may have.

  • Hi Sussex,

Just about six and a half years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer with a psa of 70 and a gleeson score od 3+3=6. I had two years of hormone therapy(Zoladex) and 37 radiotherapy treatments whch was at Brighton Cancer Centre. My psa went right down to 0.01 and even now is still only 0.87 so I cinsider myself very lucky. I know for both of you it is a very scary time but treatments have improved so much recently. The only thing I can say is to try and find a hospital that has newish machiens for they can target the tumore more accurately which means less side affects.

If you have any questions, I will do my best to help. Sending best wishes to you both, Brian.
