Hello kjg1999,
A big welcome to our forum. How difficult things must be for you right now especially as you already lost your mum to lung cancer in 2006. I hope you have some good support around you and that your school is understanding of the incredibly difficult situation you are in. You have come to the right place though by joining this forum as you will meet other people here who are dealing with exactly the same issues as you and it can help not to feel so alone. Perhaps it could help you to go and see your doctor and explain the situation you are facing at home- the doctor may then refer you to talk to someone who will help you cope and give you some advice on how to carry on with your school activities as it is important you still see your friends, that you eat well even if it seems so difficult for you at the moment.
There is also a great organization called Riprap that you should contact - it is specifically for young people of your age who have a parent with cancer. More information below:
Riprap
Website: www.riprap.org.uk
This site offers support to children between 12 and 16 who have a parent with cancer. There is information about cancer and a forum to share experiences.
And anytime you want to talk to someone, don't hesitate to come back here. It will help you just to write things down and to talk to others who are in the same boat as you or who have had a similar experience in the past but have come out the other end.
What you are going through really isn't easy. We are here for you.
A big virtual hug from all of us at Cancer Chat,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
