Hi there all, I will jump right into the situations surrounding me at the moment (Rather not use the "Introduce yourself". I chose the name 'Heisenberg' as it conicided what has happened to me and my life recently whilst watching Breaking Bad. I graduated a few months ago from university. I was really happy and planned out what I wanted to do (What jobs I want to apply for and at what locations). Everything went really well and things were looking brilliant. Until I went to the GP with my dad who had abdominal pain.
GP requested an ultrascan test for the pain (They thought it was initially symptoms from the gall bladder). This accidental scan picked up on shadows of the liver which caused all the abdominal pain. We went back to the GP and they requested for a CT scan and the doctors at the hospitals were concerned that it was cancer. My dad went for the CT scan and there are multiples tumors. Our GP said it was most likely to be cancer. We are still not sure what it is as we went to see a liver specialists yesterday and the specialist said it could either be cancer, cirrhosis or both. This is the first scenario, the other involved with one of my closest friend I made for the duration of my university life.
My friend had problems one morning when he had to throw up in the morning spontaneously and I was in the guest room to hear it whilst I was sleeping. Initially we all thought my friend ate the wrong food for dinner the night before. So we both belittled the symptoms. Then a few weeks went by and it turns out my friend went to the hospital because he had bad stomach pains. The doctors couldn't find out what the problem was with his stomach and the pain subsided then my friend was released from hospital.
It was a week later and my friend went back home. He went into hospital as he felt the pains in his stomach again. He then had surgery on his stomach to remove the 'blockage' that was blocked up located in the middle of his large and small intestines. Then a few weeks later, he had a call from the hospital telling him that the blockage is cancerous after close examinations and the doctors were fearing that there are parts of the blockage remaining left in his stomach. The doctors used the Dukes system and classed my friend as Stage C (A being the least severe and D being the most severe).
So, the reason why I got double slapped in the face? Because both my friend has cancer and my dad is likely to have cancer. I planned out what I wanted to do (Get a job back at where I have studied and move in with my friend in question). Now that both situations are dire, my plans are out of the window and I don't know what to do. I am remaining strong and everything but I feel let down in general and don't know what to do which is why I am here today.
