chemo and joint pain

i was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago and stated treatment soon as i had surgery, radio and chemo. during chemo i started with severe joint pain and this has increased after treatment and is very disabling . went to doctor they don't think it's realted and keep shrugging me off.

does anybody have this experience wat treatment have u had for it?

  • Hi Humpy, I also suffered with pain during and more so after chemo. I was told this was muscle pain due to the steroid used in with the chemo. Apparently it can affect the muscles. Mine was in my legs and hips and was very painful at times. I would mention you are worried to your oncologist at the hospital next time you have an appointment. I was also convinced at the time that the cancer had come back but I was fine. I too had Breast cancer and my shoulders still play me up from time to time , however I think this is a small price to pay for having 7 years in remission and am so grateful to be here as originally the prognosis was very bleak indeed,

Take heart and if worried mention it to the hospital.

    Best wishes,

    Bubbles.

  • i've had MRI and they say it's all fine just want to know about everyone elses experience because the pain can be so much and has restricted mobility alot just want to know if anything helped u

  • Hi I have had breast cancer also, treatment was stopped after 4 cycles has I was very sensitive and felt very ill. It has been 10 weeks now since my last dose, my shoulders are the main problem,it's so painful, just cleaning up hurts and the next day I feel like I have been in the ring with Mike Tyson. I was very worried also I do think it is the treatment.
