BCC on lip

Hi, First post. Have had several Basal Cells and had them surgically removed. However the latest one is just above my lip line. I'm concerned that cutting it out may cause problems (not cosmetic as I'm 79!) and had decided to go with radiotherapy. However the long term after effects of this look like they may not be very good. Anyone had radiotherapy for these, I'd be interested to hear your experience. Am also considering leaving it totally.  Confused!

Surgery for BCC on lip can be problematic, it can leave your lip feeling tight permanently. If you've been offered radiotherapy just have it and don't worry about any long term effects which if any will be 15 years or more away. You will be over 94 by then. Ive had radiotherapy 12 to 15 years ago to lesions on my scalp and face without problems other than a bit of short term soreness which they will give you creams for. The worst decision is to take no action as the lesion will continue to grow, albeit slowly and cause you increasing misery.

Thanks Ed. You're probably right but was concerned about permanent tiredness after radiotherapy. But your experience sounds encouraging.
