Not offically diagnosed but told highly likely...please help

Hi,

Like you all, I am devastated to be here.

I waa recalled after my first mammogram and had my appointment at the breast assessment unit today. At tne ultrasound, the dr asked if I had surgery on my breast as the tissue looked like scarring but I havent. They done a biopsy and put a clip in then had another mammogram. I then met with the dr and the breast cancer nurse. The dr said its highly suspicious and likely will be a cancer but he said its very confusing as its long and very thin. It sits right below my nipple. He said has features of cancer but its confusing as its long and very thin. Not in my lymph glands phew.

Just wondering if anyone has had anything similiar?

Thank you

  • Hello Worriedmam

I'm sorry to hear that at an appointment at your local breast clinic earlier this week you were told it's highly likely you have breast cancer. I know how difficult it can be to hear this news and how difficult this period of waiting now ahead of your appointment on Monday can be. It's understandable that you're feeling worried and that you might have lots of questions about what this might all mean for you.

It's good to hear that the team had no concerns about the scan results of your lymph nodes and hopefully when you meet with them next week they will be able to give you some answers and reassurance.

In the meantime I wonder if you might find it useful to chat things through with one of our team of nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Try to keep busy over the next few days Worriedmam. It will help the time to pass. Do let us know how you get on on Monday. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
