Dr Google has not spent 7 years studying medicine, then at least 10 years as a resident doctor, before becoming a consultant in cancer services. 

The weekly meeting is a Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting attended by the team of specialist doctors, nurses and allied health professional involved in delivering your cancer care. They will discuss the results of any scans and tests you may have had before proposing a care plan for you. This plan will then be discussed with you by whoever is appointed as your lead clinician. Once you have agreed to a care plan, your consent will be recorded and treatment can start.

Your health anxiety is understandable - you are bound to be worried - but please be assured that there isn’t just one doctor involved in planning your care - there’s a whole team of professionals.

The process may seem frustratingly slow at times, but it is tried and tested. Literally over a million people (including me) are alive today in the UK because they have been subject to the same process.

I’ve had no tests or scans, other than a full mole excision. So I assume I have to wait for this meeting, until my next surgery date?
