I’m sorry to read what you and your family are going through. To receive this news at any time is devastating, but to be told this whilst you are 30 weeks pregnant and getting ready to welcome your baby must be utterly overwhelming.

It sounds as though your team have already given you a clear plan, with chemotherapy starting soon and the possibility of surgery being reviewed depending on how the spots respond. Please do keep talking to them about anything that is worrying you or any questions that come to mind, as they are the ones who know your situation and your baby's situation best.

With regard to a second opinion, this is something you can discuss directly with your consultant or your GP, as they will be able to guide you on how to go about this within the NHS if that is what you would like to explore.

In the meantime, please know that you do not have to carry this alone. Our nurses are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and are there to listen and talk things through with you, whatever that looks like for you right now.
