I recently got diagnosed with Melanoma In Situ, the doctor used the term "melanoma in situ at least" and said that they are sending off the sample to a specialist as there was something "atypical" about the mole. 

After ruminating on the 'at least' all weekend, i rang the nurse specialist the following week and she said that the local pathologist opinion was that it was "precancerous" or melanoma in situ, and that they had overtreated people in the past so wanted to get a second opinion from a specialist at another hospital before putting together a plan.

Finding myself overanalysing everything people tell me and chucking it in Claude/AI or Google, which is not helping my anxiety.

Anyone else have this where it feels like the consultant is hedging a little with whatever they say before a final diagnosis?
