Diagnosed with sarcoma

I went into hospital on the 22nd FEb with black stools, 23rd Feb had an endoscopy and found a tumor that had ulcerd causing the black stools, and a cttap scan which came back as clear no spread also a MRI of my liver which was also clear. Biopsy came back as inconclusive so was referred for a endoscopy ultrasound on the 27th march. Results came back to confirm cancer but no suspicious spread also.

I had surgery on the 18th May to remove the tumor which went with no complications and now waiting for the pathology report which is agonisingly difficult, also I have the sdhb gene which is genetic so I have to also wait to see if it is under that umbrella.

I'm in such shock and the last few months have been a blur.

  • Hello Bikeboy79

I'm sorry to hear about all that has led you to find us. It sounds like it's been a difficult time, but I'm pleased to hear that the recent surgery went well and you've had no complications.

We know that for many people, this period of waiting for results can indeed be agonisingly difficult. Waiting to hear about the next steps in your care is a difficult time. It's good to know that the MRI scan and biopsy before your surgery didn't raise any concerns about a spread, so hopefully, when you next speak with the specialists, they will be able to give you some reassuring news.

In the meantime, if it might help to chat things through with one of our team of nurses, you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you will hear from the team soon Bikerboy79. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Sending best wishes,
