Prostate Cancer - diagnosed last week, recommended to have prostate removed. Has anyone gone through this?

I got a Stage2 diagnosis last week, im only 47, the Consultant has suggested having my whole Prostate removed, he also said he’d like this operation done within 4 weeks

    1. Hi, sorry to hear that you got bad news.  I had my prostate removed almost exactly a year ago. The actual surgery is straightforward and at your age recovery should be quicker than mine. (I’m 72!). In my case the decision between surgery and radiotherapy was mine. Consultant would not recommend one over the other. A year on I’m happy I made the right decision.  Good luck
