Just diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and waiting to discuss treatment options. Any experience or advice would be most welcome

I have just had the meeting and been given the resiults of my biopsy.

The next stage I am told is a meeting to discuss my treatment options and I would welcome any experience anyone can pass on to me.

It seems I have two options because the cancer does not seem to have spread beyond the prostate. One is to wait and have regular test to see if anything is getting worse or the other to try to cure it with tablets, injections and ultimately x-ray.

My initial thoughts without the benefit of a great deal of knowledge are that at the age of 77 Im not going to get to a position where I am better equipped to deal with the treatment. If I am monitored and things get worse in a couple of years by then I could have high blood pressure/ Had a heart attack or something else.

Plus I have to be honest Im not a "lets wait and see" person and I worry the thought at the back of my mind may alter my personality.

Good luck to everyone all the best
