Told I had bowel cancer by registrar who didn't know I didn't know

Hi everyone

I had Hartmanns procedure on 23rd November last year as had perforated bowel.....now have a stoma which is hopefully reversible. I was at the hospital for pain with gall bladder.....the registrar was talking me through my previous procedure and said and they have cut out all the cancer.....I was gob smacked as had no idea I had cancer!

They knew in the MDT team meeting on 17th Dec where they ordered me an urgent chest CT which I went to but had no idea what it was for. I also had to have ultrasound to check it hasn't spread to liver which it hasn't.

Now hopefully they have cut it all out and that's the end of it. But I won't find out until my appointment with surgeons on Monday which is my 6 week check up.

I guess I am just feeling completely be wildered. Since we got the all clear with the liver my boyfriend has just gone ok well it's all done now cancer is out and needs to move on.  I'm just hoping they don't give me a choice about having chemo....sometimes they do and say well it's your choice......sorry I'm waffling I just feel bereft to be honest.
