Confused with appointments - just had one through for a pre-assessment. Will that be the scan or just a chat? Just been diagnosed with tonsil cancer

Just received a made with some appointments on, I have tonsil cancer and have had the mask made and had a scan, I thought that was the scan to set everything up, but have an apointment for a "pre Assessment" I will be so disappointed if this pre assessment is the set up scan, as that was on my limit of mask wearing, does any know if its a scan or just a chat?

    We have some information about preparing for surgery on our website that includes an outline about what might happen at a pre-assessement appointment. 

    If you're feeling anxious then do give the clinic a call on Monday and ask for some clarity about what the appointment involves so tha tyou can be prepared. Hopefully this will be a staight forward assessment for you so that surgery can go ahead as planned.

    Thanks for this.  Thing is I thought I had had one prior to the simulation, im worried i have to do the simulation again, that took ages with the mask on,  i was prepared to start treatment which is a lot quicker, i dont want to even see that mask any more than i naad

    Try to think of the mask as a piece of clothing that is essential for a very short time daily. Think of it as your magic shield to help you get better. I call mine Hannibal Lecter

    ive had the mask fitting and start RT in a couple of weeks but just think it’s one step nearer in your journey of getting back to health. We can share our journey experiences
