Having craniotomy on Thursday

After 6 weeks of the unknown, started with flashing n right eye then weeks later blurred vision in left eye for a day and awful headache on left eye and feel unwell for a week went to doctor and sent to hospital for scan , they found a tumour at back left of head. Sent for MRI, told very bluntly I’d need a op to debulk  or I’d die and life span possible 3 years as I’d got a milonoma. How can I be told this with no biopsy done till they debulk on Thursday and take biopsy.
so as you can imagine . So at the moment I don’t know what’s happening. Hadcdate booked in for op on 7th waited all day ready to go down theatre ready but had to be cancelled as no bed for me after op.
anyone else out there to talk to as I could really do with someone out their with same things

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat community Huckett although I'm so sorry to hear about the tumour that was found, and the news you were given afterwards.

This must have come as quite a shock, and understandably, quite difficult to process as well but I hope writing things down helped somewhat.

I can see you are having your craniotomy today so I want to wish you the very best of luck and let you know we're thinking of you.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you have any further questions or concerns you can talk to one of our cancer nurses by telephone - 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m - or by making a post in their section of the forum called ask the nurses. They're very insightful and will do all they can to support you.

I hope your operation is a success Huckett and all goes well with your recovery.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
