stage 3 melanoma

just found out my SLNB was positive in both nodes removed. feeling very scared of next steps and if it has spread further. anyone else had the same?.

  • Hi hollysunray,

I didn't have a SLNB in 1996 because my melanoma wasn't deep enough, but 13 years later it appeared in my groin & pelvic nodes. That was 16 years ago & I'm still here, fit & healthy. In those days we only had surgery - now we also have drug therapies and they are showing great success. So although it's a scary time for you, you will get very good treatment and a greater chance of being cancer free. I've sent you a friend request so that, should you want to chat about anything, we can do so by private message.

Good luck and I hope you aren't waiting too long for a treatment plan to be put in place,

Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient since 2009)
