Newly diagnosed TNBC cat 3 stage 1

Hi all

Just recently diagnosed following a mammogram in Oct, so its TNBC which is unusual as I am 61 i have been told. Really worried as waiting for pet scan and MRI results. I only saw the consultant last Thursday and have had all the scans in 3 days. Its the waiting and worrying that is so hard. Don't know if anyone else has this cancer, all I know is that it is aggressive and that word scares me  I just want to start Chemotherapy now.

If anyone would like to chat with me, I could really do with the distraction

  • Hello BFA

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). It's understandable that you're feeling anxious at the moment.

It's good to know that the breast care team have already organised for you to have the additional tests needed before treatment can start. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your next appointment with them and they'll be able to discuss the next steps with you and offer some reassurance.

We know that for many people, this period of waiting and uncertainty can be really difficult. I wonder if you might find it helpfu lto talk things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. As well as helping you think about any questions you might want to ask. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you'll be able to connect with other women here on the forum who have been through treatment for TNBC soon. Do keep in touch BFA and let us know how you're doing. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
